This is a special model inland waterways barge, but not a Luxe Motor due to the lack of a aft cabine on the stern. It is a low and flat motor vessel, in connection with the bridges in The Hague.
Usually between 20 and 24 meters long, not too large a cavity, heavy mountain timbers, often a small wheelhouse, sometimes fitted with an upright or even back-hung fence. A Katwijker was often used as a cargovessel with passagers, but also as a normal cargo ship and for fishing.
