Vision Doeve Brokers

The ketch-rigged sailing yacht "Zeehond" was built in 1950 based on a design of Baron van Höevell, a designer renowned for his classic, seaworthy sailing yachts with elegant lines and a solid construction. His designs are characterized by a S-bilge hull shape and traditional rigging, combining both aesthetics and functionality. The "Zeehond" is a fine example of this craftsmanship, reflecting the nautical beauty and construction quality of its era. The forepeak, currently used as storage, can easily be restored to its original function as a sleeping area. The owner’s cabin has 1x a single berth and 1x 1,5 persons berth, followed by a cozy salon with a corner seating area and a traditional stove. The interior also includes a galley, a toilet, a quarter berth and a navigation area with a settee. Over the years, significant work has already been carried out on the yacht. The rudder stock has been renewed, and parts of the hull and the rubbing strake have been replaced where necessary. The electrical system has also been upgraded. While part of the interior has been renovated, the current owner is unable to complete the project due to circumstances. This makes the "Zeehond" an ideal restoration project for a skilled and handy enthusiast. With dedication, this unique yacht can be fully restored to her former glory.
